WE HAVE SHOWN BROTHERHOOD. WE WILL CONTINUE TO HELP
Over the past year, we have given proof of the extraordinary strength of Polish-Ukrainian brotherhood in the world of sport. In the first phase of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, Polish people provided shelter to refugees from Ukraine and arranged transport, food and clothing. Today, we are at a different stage. What we need now is integration, so that Ukrainian people feel united with Polish society. Sport is an excellent tool to bring nations and generations together.
I am proud of the attitude of athletes, unions and clubs who have shown their willingness to provide help and openness to welcome players and entire teams from Ukraine since 24 February 2022. These are beautiful examples of brotherhood!
The marathon of solidarity between the Polish sporting community and Ukraine continues. We have been well aware from the beginning that this will be a long process, and we have been ready for it. We will support the Ukrainians and put pressure on Russia for as long as necessary.
