FRIENDS FOR UKRAINE
Iga Świątek and Agnieszka Radwańska, the two best Polish tennis players, met in July 2022 in Kraków to raise funds for children affected by the war in Ukraine.
The charity tournament “Iga Świątek and Friends for Ukraine” started with a mixed doubles – Iga Świątek played in a duet with 17-year-old tennis player from Poland, Martyn Pawelski, while Agnieszka Radwańska was accompanied by Ukrainian Segiy Stakhovsky. Świątek and Pawelski won.
The most important match played between Iga Świątek and Agnieszka Radwańska. Radwańska won 6:4.
The legendary Ukrainian footballer Andriy Shevchenko was the special guest of the tournament. The matches were refereed by Ukraine's top tennis player, multiple WTA tournament winner, Elina Svitolina.
During the matches and charity auctions, approximately PLN 2.5 million was raised.
